Today, Stormeus released the version of VCMP which is based on client side, 04rel005.

Update: 04rel006 is launched too.

Well I still see no need to change our version to this one just contains bug fixes and no new features. Might change it to rel004 at some point, but I am going to focus on releasing the patch first.

no we need rel005 for sure now it's new update and am sure it'll take programmers to make new hacks for rel005 and i disagree with going to rel004 for now since everyone have tons of hacks that works fine with rel004 am saying lets take it to the new level make it rel005 and we'll be protected from these aimlockers and aimboters

Let's see what Sami and Bird say about that. You can't be sure rel005 has enough changes to make the hacks stop working and even if they did, I am sure nothing is preventing them from releasing new versions.

The difference between rel003 and rel005 is client side. In rel003, there is no proper client side but rel005 allows us. It allows us to interact with GUI more. The creation of sprites and labels in client side is lot different and better than in server side. If you think the problem is sliding, then contact flake. He is the one to enable slide in newer versions using slc. Updating the server will give benefit. You just need to edit few codes. I can also help you in that.

I don't like GUI at all, what I need is a designer that can make professional looking GUI that looks like it fits with the game. I'm simply not interested in design. I only use server side GUI for menu's and for score list in minigames such as races.

I have converted the server to rel004 before, but for some people the GUI is not placed correctly and the GUI sprites appear above the text for some people even though I've enabled everything I should. Do you know of a server with good looking GUI or any scripts I can look at for the design choose. Let me know.

about hacks, my knowledge is 0, there more professionals in this game who make ASI plugins and do shit stuff like aimbot blabla. But according to my little knowledge our hacks cannot be blocked becauae we simply dont use C++ and mainly we dont use game functions, and btw, finding new memory addresses(if they are somehow replaced to prevent hackers to use them, its silly to say this lol because I think they cant be changed.) is much easier than finding new game function(if they are somehow replaced, which I dont think can be).

Because we need it for the menu system at least. Check the VC-MP forum. Have you tried opening the browser as an administrator?

To download it, you need latest vcmp browser (it is updated too)

The download link is same and its name and version too. Few days ago, Stormeus updated it also telling on the vcmp forum that now, it is auto download the required dlls. The size of it is also reduced to less than 1 mb. I was also unable to download the rel005 but worked with the new one.

As I've seen most of the people have still set their updater URL to thijn's which won't allow downloading the 04rel005 update which our server uses), so in order to start playing from tomorrow, you'll have to change your updater URL to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. To do this, you need to go to Tools > Settings, then this window will pop up:

If you see at the bottom, the second last box is the updater URL which you'll have to change.

The game is now more alive than ever considering a developer returned and actually brought out some patches + fixed the updater URL. It will probably take a while for it to die completely unless you define a game dying when you stop playing/liking it you (which is pretty common).

Also, even how much players are playing its not enough to say that its not dead. Think logically, if 2005,6,7,8's games are called as death, then what is this 90's game :V. I don't call it dead for no reason. Its dead of bugs. Its dead of kiddish members. It's dead of not having proper browser for which new players cant get to it. And nowadays, gamers don't even wanna spent a second to fix a game and play it, not at least on a 90's game. It's been like that for a long time pavonis, by your definition the game was dead long before you started played it as well. This game didn't come out in the 90s, I played it when it came out in october 2002 I believe. COD has kiddish members, as well, would you consider that game dead? The browser was fixed now by Stormeus and hopefully he will give more people rights to edit the original download so new players can come in. The game has bugs, but it is afterall an unofficial multiplayer mode, so they can't do everything to fix all the sync issues.

The game will probably die at some point, but it's been around for probably longer than you and I doubt it's going to die as soon you quit. Also I don't think it's fair to call something dead if it has a community that plays it still.

I have no problem with you having the opinion that VC-MP is dead, my problem is that you are writing "VC-MP is dead" like an immature kid, in every post you make. What's the point of doing that? On-topic: the GUI which you use for menus and scoreboards Angel, it is tough to control that. I haven't tried the latest version but it might include the solution of GUI problem I am facing or might be a problem in my code. Hope you implement the rel006 version. Good Luck!

Pavonis, don't confuse your subjective opinions as objective truths. It's pretty common nowadays on the internet and I just face palm every time. The game is now more alive than ever considering a developer returned and actually brought out some patches + fixed the updater URL. It will probably take a while for it to die completely unless you define a game dying when you stop playing/liking it you (which is pretty common).

No, its dead bro. No new players are getting into it. And, I agree that every game have bugs, but this game have bugs like mostly, which isn't even like get to an easter-egg :V. Also, even how much players are playing its not enough to say that its not dead. Think logically, if 2005,6,7,8's games are called as death, then what is this 90's game :V. I don't call it dead for no reason. Its dead of bugs. Its dead of kiddish members. It's dead of not having proper browser for which new players cant get to it. And nowadays, gamers don't even wanna spent a second to fix a game and play it, not at least on a 90's game. And those who are playing now, if we total them it would be like 100 players or a bit more than that. And that's a really low lol.

It's been like that for a long time pavonis, by your definition the game was dead long before you started played it as well. This game didn't come out in the 90s, I played it when it came out in october 2002 I believe. COD has kiddish members, as well, would you consider that game dead? The browser was fixed now by Stormeus and hopefully he will give more people rights to edit the original download so new players can come in. The game has bugs, but it is afterall an unofficial multiplayer mode, so they can't do everything to fix all the sync issues.

The game will probably die at some point, but it's been around for probably longer than you and I doubt it's going to die as soon you quit. Also I don't think it's fair to call something dead if it has a community that plays it still.

This message to Pavonis: Everything in this world will vanish one day. We all don't know what will happen in future. The only thing we can do is predict which you are doing by calling it dead. Everyone in this community right now know that this game will die out but no one knows when it will. Lets agree you that the players are decreasing very fast which I dont believe but calling this game dead means that not a single player in this whole universe plays VCMP anymore but you are the one who is calling this game dead and playing it under secret alias. If you dont play under secret alias then I am sorry for blaming you. This game is not dead however if you call it dying, then I could just say please let us enjoy those last moments with VCMP. Don't ruin our last memories. This small ray of hope can also regenerate a whole new VCMP community.

If the developers are keen to improve this mod, please encourage them and also us who are interested in it. Yoi sre calling it dead which it is not. On-topic: the GUI which you use for menus and scoreboards Angel, it is tough to control that. I haven't tried the latest version but it might include the solution of GUI problem I am facing or might be a problem in my code. Hope you implement the rel006 version. Good Luck!
