Question :
A lift is on the ground floor. There are 4 people in the lift including me.
When the lift reaches 1st floor, 1 person gets out 3 people get in.
The lift goes up to the second floor, 2 people get out 6 people get in.
It then goes up to the next floor up, no-one gets out but 12 people get in. Halfway up to the next floor up the lift cable snaps, it crashes to the floor. Everyone dies in the lift. How did I survive?

Well you didn't tell us how many times we could Guess.

The obvious answer would be that you got out on the first or second floor, but since I make riddles myself I know it isn't always that easy.

Anyways I don't have much time to think about it so that's my answer.

I'm a little confused over how you light a fire. But since you ask which one do you light first i can understand it a little more. If it is pitch black you probably can't see the lamp, so In that case you probably light the match first so that you see where the lamp is.
