Minigame discussion.

I have noticed one weird things: People don't usually play minigames unless someone else is already playing them. Similar to how no one joins a server unless there is at least 2-4 players there.

Everytime I do for example /race 10, the effect of that is that a lot of players just go: Hey you can race? and starts doing races.

I've put out help icons, made so many messages advertising it. But I think people ignores it.

I don't think the problem is that people think the minigames are bad (if that's the case please let me know). I think it's because they are poorly advertised.

My idea: Make a script that selects a random name and sends a message so it looks like it's coming from a player. that maybe happens every 10-15 min, that says: everyone join /race 10 or something.

I know it sounds like a stupid idea, but I have really noticed that some people only pay attention to what other people writes.

What do you guys think? Do you have any better ideas? Do you think I am right or do you think it's because the minigames are not fun?

Most of them are not aware that there minigames, So I support your Idea +1, And I usually join minigames so more n more people can join and I let the newbies win so they can gain confidence that It's a good game and they can win easy money

That's exactly what I said Crystal. We can perhaps have one name, I was just saying.

Players like those things and they will surely call their friends which mean more players for VK.

A tip for the admins that cares can be to write stuff like: Hey everyone join /race 3 or hey everyone join /onehitkill. It's like a server really: If you got 0 players who plays on the server regularly, you're not going to get any players on the server at all. But if you got 2-4 players that play there regularly you're automatically going to get a lot more players during the day that plays there just because the server is not empty.

I think minigames work the same thing, but the difference is that: Minigames can be played alone. Once 2-4 people starts realzing that and plays minigames regularly, others will join in as well.

But I think the best solution is to use a Tux bot or perhaps for the admins to be a little sneaky and try to "trick" players into some minigames by saying stuff in the chat. Most of the players just follow the flows and will probably not regret playing some minigames. Time for me to go to bed. Cya, see you guys tomorrow.

I just ann after I saw this topic anyways.

It would be great to use ann after regular intervals of time. Or simply create a big textdraw or something over the player's screen. To join the event.

Also, I and BABA had made a bot for IRC, maybe we can make it announce things? We're still announcing some things while the laptop is on, many guys have noticed that bot, it's name is "Announcer"

Yeh most of them seems rarely to join, well I'm always join the Shooting Range all the time, anyways good idea.
