If people are having fun I don't see no harm. I'll do my best to keep the spammers away from important topics, but it all relies on the reports I receive from users.

If we ask ourselves what is the purpose of the forum?

1. To keep in contact with the staff. What effect does spam have on this? Nothing since we send out PMs to read important topics.
2. For me to announce things and for it to reach as many people as possible. I believe I have encouraged the spammers to keep my topics bumped, which benefits us. But I do get angry when they don't do that though. I doubt preventing spam would make this any easier.
3. To have fun. If people want to talk shit to each other that's what the general chat section is for. I would hope some people make many replies because they like to communicate with other users as well. I don't believe it's 100 % to get to the top of the poster list.

There's probably other reasons as well.

In addition, Angel removed some of the forum blocks such as "Top Hashtags" and/or "Top @'s" a while ago to avoid further spam so there shouldn't be any issue with the current blocks we've.
