Install Malwarebytes, it actually recognizes all kind of virus and shows you all the details about them.
MalwareBytes saved my old pc lots of times.

Dude Antiviruses are garbage, Antivirus companies first make virus and infect other people computers after that they introduce an antivirus that kills the virus and they money through it ;( so I recommend you to delte system 32 install a linux OS, Ubuntu or Kali and Chill like a madafaka

run cmd as admin
type this
attrib -h -r -s /s /d e:\*.*
here e is the drive containing the virus
after that goto the directory, the real files should be visible

You are in most cases probably not going to be able to recover the files unless you're in luck. If the virus used a long encryption key not even the toughest supercomputers can break the encryption (that's kinda the point of encryption in general).

In Jack's video the guy first tells you to download a decrypter, that will most likely only work if the key or algoritmn used for encryption is weak. If you're in luck though you might be able to recover old versions of the files as stated in the video.

Well try malware bytes as I've used it in the past and it have solved problems for me for most of times and there's a tool called usb fixer or something like that I forgot the name try downloading it and scan your pc with it it'll be do the work as well

Because your system was attacked by an hacker and you cannot know when he/she would encrypt your next files.

Because your system was attacked by an hacker and you cannot know when he/she would encrypt your next files.

@Mr.Alone, use Windows defender only and do back-up of your files everytime. If you are using Windows 10 then turn on the Ransomware protection in Windows defender.

Suggest to re-install windows. To recover data, either use EaseUs Data Recovery Wizard or Minitool Power Data Recovery (Recommended by me)
